Anna has worked in ITT for over nine years and is proud to be the Executive Leader of the newly formed Norfolk, Essex and Suffolk Teacher Training (NESTT). Prior to this she worked in a range of primary and special schools finishing her teaching career with five years as a primary head teacher. Whilst working in schools, Anna saw first-hand the positive impact trainee teachers have on a school community and on school improvement. It is this experience that informs her work with NESTT.
With a strong interest in training and continued professional development, I have always been keen to facilitate interschool partnerships and provide extensive support to colleagues from other schools on an informal basis, sharing advice and resources. On behalf of Billericay TSA, I lead the Secondary Subject Networks for MFL, and am also the Lead Subject Mentor for MFL within the Billericay Educational Consortium School Direct. I have also delivered flexible and school wide training on topics such as problem solving, reading strategies, literacy and marking and assessment, as well as providing some NQT training for Billericay TSA.
Before leading in ITT, Sean taught in secondary schools in Suffolk as a Design Technology teacher, as well as recently having the whole school responsibility of Professional Tutor for trainee teachers and Induction Tutor for Early Career Teachers. Sean followed a school-based training route himself so has a solid insight into the expectations and format of this route. He really enjoys working with trainee teachers, their passion and enjoyment for teaching and learning is so important to becoming the excellent teachers we need for the young people in our schools.
